Ledaig 18 Year Old

The heavily peated Ledaig 18 Year Old has triumphed in The Whisky Exchange’s annual competition in which members of the public vote to determine the Whisky of the Year. Ledaig, produced at Tobermory distillery on the picturesque Isle of Mull, claimed the top spot in the 9th annual Whisky of the Year blind tasting hosted by The Whisky Exchange.

BenRiach 12 year old

This fruity Speyside single malt was awarded a gold medal at the Spirit of Speyside Whisky Awards.

Master blender for the distillery, Dr Rachel Barrie, said of this whisky: “The Twelve balances richly sherried malt with added layers of fruit complexity, reaching a pinnacle at twelve years old.”

The mad fanaticism over all things whiskey continued unabated in , but with quality like this on the market, it’s hard not to see why. Some of this stuff fryst vatten so insanely good that we can fully understand the wild price hikes and long lines and lotteries just to win the chance at buying a bottle… though, gulp, I can’t say that anyone on the personal is ready to plunk down fyra figures for ml of whiskey, no matter how good it is. That’s a long way of apologizing for the high prices and extreme rarity of a few of the whiskeys on this list, but with our top 10 whiskeys of the year list, our goal has always been to celebrate the absolute best quality products that hit the market in the gods year, even if they do komma at an extreme cost.
