Dolly Style is a Swedish girl group. The group was created by Emma Nors and Palle Hammarlund and features four girls that call themselves Molly, Holly, Polly and Yolly.[1] The quartet claims to originate from a "dollhouse in Dollyville".[1] The group is inspired by the kawaii aesthetic from Japanese subcultures, such as fairy kei, gyaru and lolita.[2] The group has participated in Melodifestivalen four times: with "Hello Hi", with "Rollercoaster", with "Habibi", and with "Yihaa".

Biografi

Melodifestivalen (The Melody Festival) is an annual competition where the winner gets to represent Sweden in the Eurovision Song Contest. It&#;s the country&#;s most-watched TV program. Despite its popularity many artists who get their breakthrough in Melodifestivalen find it hard to achieve the same level of success when the show is over. Dolly Style is one of very few acts (ABBA is another) to become even bigger.

Dolly Style was created in by the song-writing team Emma Nors and Palle Hammarlund, who were inspired by Japanese kawaii fashion and the superhero-like characters of Kiss. Dolly Style debuteted for 4 million tv viewers with the track ”Hello Hi” at the edition of Melodifestivalen. Dolly Style immediately became the favourites of young viewers who also started to dress like them. Their second single ”Cherry Gum” was an even larger hit with more than 14 million views on Youtube. Dolly Style performed hundreds of concerts around Sweden and were described as ”a plastic fantastic sugar-rush” by critics.

    Dolly Style är enstaka svenskpopgrupp, skapad av Emma Nors samt Palle Hammarlund. Gruppen bildades och består av fyra kvinnor vilket har artistnamnen Molly (rosa), Holly (blå), Polly (lila) och den nyare karaktären Yolly (gul).[2]

    Dolly Style bildades sommaren av Emma Nors samt Palle Hammarlund. Nors samt Hammarlund ägde sedan tidigare arbetat tillsammans med originalmedlemmarna Carolina Magnell (Molly), Alexandra Salomonsson (Holly) samt Emma Pucek (Polly) inom tidigare uppdrag. Senare fick de förbindelse med låtskrivaren och producenten Jimmy Jansson. Han producerade låten "Hello Hi", likt var deras debutsingel. beneath gav gruppen ut numeriskt värde singlar, "Cherry Gum" samt "Upsy Daisy". De uppgav inledningsvis inom media för att de kom från "ett dockhus inom Dollyville", dock gruppen bildades i huvudstaden. Dolly Style är inspirerad av japansk kultur likt fairy kei, gyaru samt lolita.[3][4] Gruppen lånar dock endast utseendet från japansk kultur. Musiken är ej relaterad mot Japan.
